VISITING FROM LONDON VIA PUBLIC TRANSPORT

There are several routes for visiting Pooh Country via public transport from London:

  • Take the train from LONDON VICTORIA station to EAST GRINSTEAD station, approximately 1 hour. From the station catch the 291 Metrobus to HARTFIELD (heading in the direction of Tunbridge Wells), approximately 40 minutes.
  • Take the train from CHARING CROSS or LONDON BRIDGE to Tunbridge Wells Station (approximately 50 minutes). From the station take the 291 Metrobus to HARTFIELD, approximately 45 minutes.
  • We highly recommend checking train and bus timetables before you travel to ensure there is no service disruption etc. Please visit https://www.metrobus.co.uk/services/MB/291 to view the 291 bus timetables and track the location of buses. If you are planning to visit us via public transport, we would suggest avoiding travelling on Sundays or Bank Holidays as there is a reduced service and the buses are infrequent.
  • From Hartfield, we would recommend purchasing a map (£1.50) and getting some directions about walking from Pooh Corner to Poohsticks Bridge. It is approximately 40 minutes (one way), unfortunately the route is not suitable for young children, prams, and bikes as there are a number of styles/gates.

To encourage public transport, we are partnering with Metrobus to offer a free postcard and guide map to visitors who travel to us via the 291 bus. Just show your ticket or e-ticket at the till! It’s so easy! Travelling via bus is a great way to explore the countryside in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way.

Please note: One map and One postcard per customer. The ticket must be for Metrobus 291 and show the date of the day you are visiting.

There are a number of bus stops in and around Hartfield. To visit us, we would recommend getting on and off the bus along Hartfield’s High Street near the Anchor Inn. You can refer to the graphic below to help you on your journey
